File # 2023-13884

On Monday, May 1, 2023, shortly after 6:00 p.m., Prince George RCMP received a report of a suspected impaired driver. Witnesses told police they were following a motorcycle towards Prince George on Highway 16 East, which was traveling well under the speed limit and the driver was swerving in the lane.

The investigation led police officers to a residence on the 2900-block of Highway 16 East where they located the suspect, who was found to be unlicensed. During the subsequent arrest of the suspect, one of the police officers was assaulted, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

The driver was arrested without further incident and released on an Undertaking with a future court date. The police officer was not seriously injured in the altercation.
