Victim Services volunteers urgently needed

Prince George RCMP’s Victim Services Unit is seeking dedicated and caring volunteers to join its team.
These volunteers are among some of the most caring and supportive individuals I have ever worked with. We would love to have some new faces join our team so we can continue to provided a high level of support to victims and their families,
states Aralee Hryciuk, Victim Services Coordinator.
The areas currently seeking volunteer support are Court Support and Victim Services support.
The Court Support position requires the individual to be available from Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., possibly for multiple days in a row. They are responsible for providing courthouse support to clients (which includes emotional support, directing clients in and out of the courtroom and around the building, liaising with Crown Counsel on behalf of the clients). Report writing and basic computer skills are required. All training is provided.
The Victim Services support position requires the applicant to be available for 80 hours of in-office training Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. After the training is completed, successful applicants are required to log a minimum of two hours per week in the office, liaising with clients. Successful applicants will also assist as needed with Community Events such as Canada Day, Hockey Games or hosting Information Booths at various events.
